You don't have to break the bank to indulge in some self care.
During this quarantine and the unknowns of the economy right now, everyone is keeping a tight budget. Yet now is the time where we all need some reassurance, some self-love.
This is for all you hardworking mamas, busy professionals working from home, and fellow boss babes out there. These are ways to treat yourself that will cost you very little or nothing at all. When in doubt, take advice from the cast of Parks and Recreation: Treat yo' self!!
AT HOME SPA DAY
Choose your own adventure! Find a relaxing spot to do your nails, or throw on a face mask and light some candles. I have been finding myself taking about 10 minutes during the day to really take my time with my skincare routine and add on an exfoliator or mask a few times a week.
WRITE IN YOUR JOURNAL
If you are spending time surrounded with family, make the most of it with joy and gratitude. We will look back on these current events and want to reflect. So, keep those memories in writing which will also help you process your feelings of all the things!
BUY YOURSELF FLOWERS
You will want something to brighten the room during these dark times and every time you glance at them, allowing it to bring you a reminder of the freedom of going out and about which we sometimes take for granted. Plus, they smell good. I grabbed a $4 bouquet on my late night grocery shopping trip.
APPLY SELF TANNER
You may not be getting your full does of Vitamin D, so don't forget to take that supplement. But also, treating yourself to some self tanner can be a mood booster. I like to use a mousse with a tanning mitt like this one from Amazon.
LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE
Want to learn how to say "Quarantine and Chill" in 3 different languages? Now is the time to dive into learning a new language. This little bit of self development will expand your world knowledge and switch up your form of entertainment for a bit. You can use DuoLingo for free.
TAKE A MENTAL HEALTH BREAK
Instead of being glued to the news stories right now, treat yourself to some alone time. You can give your mental health the attention it deserves. Turn off the electronics, sit outside in nature, and take some deep breaths or meditate. Enjoy time with YOU.
PRACTICE YOUR MAKEUP SKILLS
Want to perfect that cat eye liner? Pick up those tools you already have in your makeup hoard and get to practicing. Even try some new colors or experiment with bold looks since you will only be facing your living room audience.
