Fall/Winter 2018 Beauty Trends

It's time to shake things up for Fall! The runways featured everything from bare naked skin to a kaleidoscope of colors. Remember, the fashion, accessories and beauty displayed may not always be ready to wear but the inspiration for what we see marketed in stores starts there. I know I need to get away from the regular beauty routine and with all the Halloween looks, plus holiday events what a better way to play with some fun trends. I will be sharing more of my versions of each trend here soon. Would love to see yours as well. Cheers!

The no-makeup makeup look seems to be fading away based on runway trends by adding pops of color into eyeliner. The classic cat eye may not be new, but adding pinks, purples, and blues seem to be the favorite way to spice things up. My favorite may just be the reverse cat eye seen at Cividini. Much simpler to apply freehand and can be smoked out for a sultry look. Try using cream-based products with thin brushes to allow for more control to make colorful, precise lines.

The Fall mood can be summed up with one shade, wine. Creating a moody look suggests mystery and is utterly gorgeous with layers and textures of sweaters. No need to be a sommelier here. Try a lipstick from anywhere in the color palette like magenta to deep burgundy that compliments your skin tone. I prefer to wear darker colors with a fresh, simple face and neutral eyes.

A little bit of that Midas touch! This season, all the sparkles are acceptable and can be full glam to a little shimmer for daytime. Silver catches the light creating a bewitching look channeling the cosmic world of starlight. For an uplifting and brightening effect, try adding a touch of silver or gold to the inner corner of eyes. Gold glitter and gemstones are fun for girls' night out, holiday party looks, and New Year's Eve.
